Hans-Thomas Richter, PhD, MAcOM

Hans-Thomas Richter started his studies in Biochemistry at the Medical University of Hannover in 1986. He then went on to a 20 year career in Biomedical Research in Germany and the US and received his PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics in 1997. Hans-Thomas worked in Academia and Pharmaceutical Industry and has over 20 publications in Medical Research. In recent years he shifted his interests to Natural Medicine and through his own personal success story with Chinese Medicine he was called to practice TCM himself. He graduated from the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine with a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2013 and opened his own clinic in Poulsbo, WA. Hans-Thomas received his Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and is an East Asian Medical Practitioner certified by the NCCAOM.

His special interests are Internal Medicine with a focus on digestive diseases. In his clinical practice Hans-Thomas developed treatment programs for several patients with digestive disorders including IBS, celiac and ulcerative colitis. Hans-Thomas has experience with treatment of Urogenital diseases such as pelvic inflammations, hemorrhoid bleeding, cystitis and prostatitis. Hans-Thomas has extensive experience treating musculoskeletal conditions resulting from overuse injury and trauma and has treated conditions like “frozen” and dislocated shoulders with specialized Tui Na techniques taught in the Zheng Gu tradition from Tom Bisio and Frank Butler.  Hans-Thomas has experience with rehabilitation of fractures using a multitude of techniques Chinese Medicine has to offer including internal and external Chinese herbs, electro-acupuncture, special Tui Na techniques, Chinese medical cupping, Gua Sha and Qi Gong. Hans-Thomas is also using Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion techniques when a more gentle approach to healing is required.

Hans-Thomas is also a passionate Golfer and recently treated Bernhard Langer a legendary Golfer with a 51 year history in this sport. Bernhard is currently leading senior PGA tour and it was a pleasure and privilege to be able to help such a distinguished athlete!

The combination of Acupuncture, Herbal medicine and the intelligent diagnostic approach makes Chinese Medicine outstanding among all other medical treatment modalities known to humankind. The long term use of western pharmaceutical drugs often further creates homeostatic imbalances of the metabolism. A simple treatment approach to mask the disease symptoms is seldom effective in the long term and downstream adverse drug effects will further exacerbate the patient’s condition and create secondary problems. Hans-Thomas believes that Traditional Chinese Medicine and in particular Chinese Herbal medicine can achieve a long standing homeostatic metabolic balance and thus create a more healthy stage of Yin and Yang leading to long lasting health effects.

Hans-Thomas’ long term vision is to combine clinical knowledge of Chinese herbs with modern research to further develop the understanding and application of herbal medicine. In recent years Research Science is increasingly investigating the powerful medicinal efficacy of herbal medicine. Hans-Thomas believes that we need to enter a new era in pharmaceutical herbal research that incorporates the complex ideas of TCM diagnostics into scientific medical research. We recently added a new natural peptide therapy that regenerates and rejuvenates the body.

In addition to his Chinese medical background, Hans-Thomas has been practicing Yoga and Qi Gong (Chinese breath cultivation) since 1997.  He teaches Yoga and Qi Gong exercises to patients, when needed, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

Hans-Thomas has recently published an article on the abuse of sham procedures in the validation of clinical acupuncture outcomes in the International Journal Complimentary and Alternative Medicine (Acupuncture Studies: Are They Done with Sham or Scam?). You can download a copy here.

Frances Malone, PhD, NP

Fances is the mother of three strong, beautiful young men, She is continually humbled and amazed by the parenting experience.

When you’re riding that roller coaster of parental crazy-love, making medical decisions can be unbelievably difficult. Having the support of a trusted, experienced medical provider who truly understands the needs of both you and your child isn't just comforting, it’s vital.

Children are –  have always been – the focus of my medical career. Frances grew up with special needs children. Since then I have been caring for critically ill and medically fragile children. Each of these professional experiences has helped to hone my skills in accurately assessing a child’s current state of being and – when necessary – acting quickly to address emergent situations.

With profound respect for children, and She firmly believes that all children are entitled to inclusive medical care. Check out Frances Malone Website. She is currently opening a new expanded facility on Bainbridge Island with new partners and a new website to come soon.

Hans-Thomas, Frances and her new partner, Jennifer Wishinski, FNP thrive to establish a long-time partnership in Adult and Children's health to combine Western and Chinese Medicine in a holistic way and are now offering individual natural Medical Care. You can find more information here
