Herbal Research

Make no mistake by comparing Chinese herbs to vitamins or other supplements. Extensive herbal research from established research facilities has been conducted over decades with thousands of peer reviewed publications in scientific and medical journals. Especially in recent years medical research has focused on identifying the active ingredients and their biomedical functionality in many Chinese herbs. Famous examples are the active components of Ginseng.. Ren Shen, Xi Yang Shen and San Qi contain powerful Ginsenosides which compose a mixture of ca. 38 estrogen-like compounds that can perform a range of metabolic functions from Improving spatial learning, increasing hippocampal synaptic protein levels and promoting the formation of blood vessels and nerve cells. These actions can be seen synonymous with the TCM category of "Yin tonification". Ginsenosides and many other Alkaloids in Chinese Herbs have shown to have anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory effects and protect vital organs especially Liver and Heart from oxidative stress. The list of biomedical implications of herbs is growing daily.
