What is your inflammation level? Test your omega 6 to 3 ratio!

Ready to put your body to the real test?

by Zinzino

Are you done with being stuck in your old routines, ready to reclaim your life and get your body back in balance? Well, believe it or not, the first step in the right direction is not to dust off your bathroom scale and face the music.

Sure, punching in the numbers to get your BMI will give you a heads-up as well. Rebooting your cupboards with healthier snacks does wonders, just as signing up with a personal trainer will boost your exercise routine. But if you really want to balance your body, you need to start by looking at it inside out, on a molecular level. Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, suggested some 2,000 years ago that all of our health issues originate in our gut. An old wisdom that still holds true today. And how about that surefire cold on the first day of vacation after working round the clock for weeks? What a lot of us might not realize is that it is just our immune system doing its job to protect us by physically telling us it’s time to slow down. Now, is it any wonder that the status of our bodies goes a lot deeper than what the good old bathroom scale is able to tell us?

Begin by balancing your body from within

The Omega-6:3 ratio in your blood is a great starting point and benchmark measurement of how your body is functioning on a molecular level. You probably already know that Omega-3 is good for you and that eating a lot of fish usually takes care of that. You might also subscribe to the common misconception that Omega-6 is the bad fatty acid, as you’ve probably picked up on the fact that modern Western diets contain an unhealthy excess of this particular fatty acid. In fact, both Omega-3 and -6 are extremely important for our bodies, but the food we eat tend to give us a distorted ratio of these fatty acids. By looking into the fatty acid profile of your blood, you’ll be able to gauge the strength of your current diet and what you need to change. The profile provides you with an overview of eleven of the most important fatty acids in your blood, including Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9.

Take a snapshot of your health

Today, you can have this fatty acid profile done in just a few minutes, with a simple blood-spot test at home. Zinzino is a leading, global company within the new science of pharmaconutrition using active nutrients from food to fight the imbalance of modern lifestyles. The Zinzino BalanceTest is completely anonymous and comes with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions. After posting the test, your personal reading is available within approximately 14 days, with a full report to guide your Omega-6:3 ratio adjustment. Just enter your test ID into the website to access your custom-detailed report with a personalized analysis on your fatty acid profile. To this date, Zinzino has conducted close to 700 000 blood spot tests across the globe giving people an insight into their body’s Omega-6:3 balance and fatty acid profile. The goal is a ratio close to 3:1 but a lot of people sit at 15:1. Interestingly enough, almost 95% of the people taking the test find out that their ratio is off-balance. The good news is that this can change in just a matter of months with Polyphenol Omega food supplements high in olive polyphenols, Omega-3, and vitamin D3. Read more about the Zinzino BalanceOil concept here, designed to safely adjust and maintain your EPA + DHA levels and the Omega-6:3 ratio.

Acupuncture for Burnout syndrome

Acupuncture can help with burnout and energy. It will improve your immune function and Liver and heart health.

The effects of acupuncture treatment in patients suffering from burnout maybe related to your gene function namely DNA methylation and Epigenetic changes.

In this observational study, a genome-wide characterization of epigenetic changes in blood DNA, before and after acupuncture treatment, was performed in a cohort of 11 patients suffering from burnout.

After acupuncture, all MBI dimensions improved significantly (EE, 16±11 [p=1.5*10-4]; DP, 4±5 [p=5.3*10-4]; and PA, 40±6 [p=4.1*10-3]). For each patient, both methylomes obtained before and after acupuncture co-clustered in the multidimensional scaling plot, indicating a high level of similarity. Genes corresponding to the 10 most differentially methylated CpGs showed enrichment in the brain dopaminergic signalling, steroid synthesis and in the insulin sensitivity pathways.

Painkillers cause Leaky Gut causing Joint pain

The first area of our body to deteriorate as we age is our JOINTS. Procrastination is a slippery slope; don't let your joints get too bad before you take action.

We are so pre-conditioned to think that surgeries or NSAIDS (ibuprofen, Aleve, Advil, or Motrin) is the only answer, or that we're "just getting old."

**Warning about NSAIDS over time: they can affect your gut permeability, which can lead to low-grade inflammation in the whole body.

If you have bacteria going elsewhere in the body, rather than staying in the gut, it can get into your joints, which is what osteoarthritis really is.

Did you know that for every one pound of weight, that's four pounds on your joints!

What is Qi 氣?

One of the most FAQ in Chinese Medicine is the origin of Qi. It is actually not that mysterious. Qi is believed to be a vital force forming part of any living entity. Qi translates as "air" and figuratively as "material energy", "life force", or "energy flow". The Chinese had an early understanding of oxygen because they knew that Qi and blood belong together but yet they are separate entities and Qi is necessary to vitalize every living cell. Today we know that oxygen binds to hemoglobin in the red blood cells and is essential for every cells metabolism. But Qi also reflects the full nutritional spectrum of the blood and the entire metabolism such as vitamin b12 or essential amino acids, fatty acids, minerals and much more. Only a complete balanced metabolic nutritional composition is bringing true vitality to the body.

58,899 patients in both cohorts were identified. Baseline characteristics were similar in both cohorts. The cumulative incidence of coronary heart disease CHD was significantly lower in the acupuncture cohort (log-rank test, p < 0.001). In the follow-up period, 4389 patients in the acupuncture cohort (17.44 per 1000 person-years) and 8133 patients in the no-acupuncture cohort (38.36 per 1000 person-years) developed CHD (adjusted HR 0.43, 95% CI 0.41–0.45). The beneficial effect of acupuncture on the incidence of CHD was independent of age, sex, comorbidities, and statins used.
